Fake Not False (2017)
About this Film
I created this short film as a sophomore in high school as my final project for the Digital Imaging III course. For the assignment, our instructor gave each student a fortune cookie. Our task was to write a script that involved the fortune cookie. As you can see in the film, the cookie that I chose read, "Beware coming events; they cast their shadows beforehand."
Using this fortune, I decided to tell the story of a young, apocalyptic movie obsessed, teenager who thinks he is seeing signs of a coming apocalypse. Taking these signs to heart he begins preparing in rather unusual ways.
I shot, directed, and edited this film along with my friends who were nice enough to act in the film. It eventually went on to be an official selection for the 2017 All-American High School Film Festival.
